The Accident and Incident Investigation Learning Programmes are designed for people in rail industry companies who have to understand and work with the Accident and Incident Investigation process. They have been developed on behalf of the Rail Safety and Standards Board and updated to reflect the Railway Group Standard "Accident and Incident Investigation" GO/RT 3473 (January 2007).
Core programme
A three-day intensive course to provide you with the knowledge and skills you will need in the local and formal investigation processes, including understanding the purpose of accident investigation, introduction to the basic tools/models, assessing the different needs of stakeholders and successful interviewing and report writing.
Supplementary programme
If you are involved in leading formal investigations, the two-day Supplementary learning programme will give you additional coaching. It is also ideal for rail professionals who supervise formal investigations. It is not possible to attend the Supplementary learning programme without first completing the Core learning programme.
